BFM TV footage of Paris Gaels’ football training
December 15th, 2009Unpublished footage of Paris Gaels football training from BFM TV who attended training before France v Ireland at the Stade de Fraud a few weeks ago. Apparently, the footage wasn’t used in the end because BFM TV had already been saturated with interviews of “la barbiche naissante” as he’s known in the French media.
Paris Gaels’ Players of the Year 2009
December 15th, 2009Club members had a good night at the 2009 Paris Gaels GAA End of Season dinner and Christmas party on Saturday December 12 in Patrick’s.
If truth be told, turnout from club members was a little disappointing. Where were you?
There was a good crowd in the end, in part thanks to Donie’s friends, a good feed was lashed out by Patrick’s and we had a bit of craic with Donie and Paddy Mc leading the post-dinner sing-song.
Dinner was followed by an awards presentation. Female Footballer of the Year went to Kristen Opie, Men’s Footballer of the Year Simon Le Bot, our French diamond. Sarah Hastings was the clear choice for Camogie and Hurling Player for 2009 was no surprise, Dave Lennon. Club Person of the Year gong, or champagne in this instance, went to Hannah Jarrett for her tireless fundraising and event organizing through-out the year.
“Seamas” picked -up a special award for his very imaginative excuse for missing training, not his only mind you. Paddy Mc was recognised for his meticulous pre-match dietary preparation and Super Star MVP went to Mark “Wings” Ryan for his year-long obsession with securing the Player of the Tournament award.

The Paris Gaels’ GOAL Challenge
November 24th, 2009Run the Semi Marathon de Paris on March 7, 2010 and raise money for GOAL & Paris Gaels!
Sign up now on www.semideparis.com !
Paris Gaels GAA is looking for your support to help raise funds for the club and to support GOAL’s Housing programme in Uganda.
50% of the money collected by Paris Gaels will be donated to GOAL, which has worked with the poorest of the poor in Uganda since 1979, and has recently embarked on a project to build homes for families that have been affected by HIV/AIDS. To date GOAL have built close to 1000 houses in this East African country, which is home to hundreds of thousands of orphans due to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
We are asking the staff, members, patrons and friends of Paris Gaels to support this fundraising effort for GOAL’s housing project.
Help GOAL through Paris Gaels build brand new homes for vulnerable families in Uganda. It costs €1,400 to build a 2 room house and €4,000 to build a 4 room house.

GOAL is a humanitarian NGO (Non Governmental Organisation) founded more than 30 years ago, and based in Dublin, Ireland. Since it’s foundation, GOAL has worked, and continues to work in many developing countries ensuring the poorest and indeed most vulnerable people in our world can benefit from the fundamental rights of life, which we all take for granted, like water, food, accommodation, education, and medical care.
More GAA on RMC!
November 19th, 2009
Oddly enough, the build-up to World Cup play-off between France v Ireland proved a great opportunity to promote Paris Gaels GAA Club and Gaelic games in France.
After Darran, Mike and Ciaran’s appearance on RMC last week Ciaran was called back, not to discuss—in his words—“the garrison game” of which he knows next to nothing but on Croke Park, its history and the position of Gaelic Football in Ireland.
Luckily Ciaran had attended the talk we had on the history of the GAA back in June.
All can be found in the following podcast, 16 minutes of publicity for the GAA.
